What's that constant clicking sound and how do I stop it?

More than likely, you are hearing the metronome. By default, the keyboard shortcut for turning on the metronome click is "C". This is a really easy keyboard shortcut to hit accidentally. If the metronome icon is blue as indicated in the graphic below, click is turned on. Just click on the icon to deactivate it.
