Microphone Mounting Arm - Recommendation
When I first started, I bought a cheap articulating mount arm
for my microphone. It was OK, but it wasn't really substantial enough to
maintain position with a heavy microphone and shock mount attached. I
had my eyes on a more premium model, but I wasn't prepared to shell out
the money for it.
Instead, I gambled on the unknown and bought the
Samson Technologies Mounting Arm MBA38 for $50. I was not disappointed. In fact, I love it. Here's how Dee Hill, one of my clients, describes it after buying it for herself:I love it! Heavy gauge metal heavy duty spring
action so it will stay wherever you position it...clamp works very well
too. Definitely recommend this to others! Thanks for recommending it!
As a side note, I am not compensated for gear recommendations in any way. Rather, I hope to provide you with some safe options that save you time and heartache.
UPDATE: Since publishing this article last year, the price of the mounting arm has increased to $106. The quality of this is still excellent; however, you may want to do some research for other options if this one is outside of your budget.
