Studio One: How can I playback just the selected area?
This is a bit of a tricky one - not because it is difficult to do, but because it is not in an intuitive location.
Studio One has a command called "Play Selected Range" that you can turn on and off. When it is active, it will play whatever audio you have selected. Kind of a "no duh". However, it does not exist in the Transport menu, does not have a pre-assigned keyboard shortcut, and does not provide any kind of button in the user interface (at least not that I can find).
So, how to activate it?
I recommend you set up a keyboard shortcut and/or a macro button that triggers the command. For more information on setting up keyboard shortcuts, check out this article:

To clarify per recent feedback, the only way I am aware of to toggle this setting is to establish a keyboard shortcut or to create a macro button. The following graphic demonstrates the command in the Keyboard Shortcuts tab of the Options menu.
